The idea of being alone forever illicits fear in many people. This irrational, yet understandable fear, can be detrimental if people are stuck in a dead-end relationship or an abusive relationship. Many people stay together for their children, or for monetary reasons. Yet the ultimate reason for not leaving a relationship is due to fear of being alone. One can learn to be on their own and not experience loneliness. Being alone does not mean that your safety is compromised, or that you will be forever financially secure. One must learn how to love with the magic of making up and rely on their own will and character and love themselves first. A person will not find unconditional security in another person. Staying in a relationship that is unhappy rather than leaving is a social norm. Staying, even though you are unhappy, is valued over leaving a relationship because of unhappiness. It boils down to fear, fear being projected from our core. Loneliness something people can experience even while in a relationship. Discovering the will to be in touch with your feelings, being happy with who you are, and finding your own personal peace. However, many people are resistant to changing their lives for the better.

Animal videos are among my favorite for an uplifting giggle in a time of need. As an animal rescue agent, seeing the harm done to animals is my daily life so I seek out the loving fun of videos such as this one. This little pug strides with such confidence and though he takes a dive he hops back up to conquer the snow standing in his way. This pug doing faceplant in the snow video made me smile and laugh, giving me happiness and hope at seeing a well cared for animal being rather on the silly side. As the type of Beatles fan who would visit Liverpool just because it’s where the “Fab Four” are from I could easily make a list of my top fifty Beatles songs which is what actually makes it so hard to pick just seven for this article. The following list is the best I can do.

Hey Jude – Some might say that “Hey Jude” is overplayed and a good argument can be made for that, but I say ultimately you have to look past stuff like that when assembling a list of the greatest songs by the band ever. In my opinion you just can’t leave “Hey Jude” off the list. It’s too good.

Happiness is a Warm Gun – The White Album is filled with wonderful songs, and this is one of them.

Penny Lane – What a brilliant song. It’s impossible for me to even imagine any other band besides the Beatles recording it.

Strawberry Fields Forever – Every element of “Strawberry Fields Forever” is exactly right and there’s really a lot going on in this song if you listen closely.

Yesterday – I don’t care how many times it has been played, “Yesterday” is still a perfect song.

Revolution – This one just rocks! I really prefer the fast single version over the slower “tongue in cheek” White Album recording. Yes, that one has its charm, but I think the single recording captures the spirit of the song better (regardless of what John thought!)
